Let's Talk Transportation!
On your wedding date, you want to arrive in style. You want to arrive on time and you want to arrive safely. Wedding transportation is a crucial element of every wedding. Many couples overlook the details of how to get to point A to point B on their wedding date. To prevent this from happening, Urban Event Planner's Principal Planner, Ashley Li, consulted owner of Ultimate Limo, Roni, to get the essentials of what to look for in modes of transportation on your wedding date.
First of all, style. How do you want to travel? Is it by a luxury sedan? Stretch limousine? SUV stretch limousine? Horse drawn carriage? Whatever you choose, think about comfort, feasibility, and your budget. This is a once in a lifetime event for you, so remember, travel in style. The most popular options for weddings are luxury sedans, stretch limousines, and SUV stretch limousines, as they are most readily available and experienced with weddings and needs of wedding schedules.
Wedding schedules. That brings me to our next item on the agenda, and probably one of the most important: how to arrive on time! On your wedding day, most likely, you will have a schedule - times for arrival, times of various events, times for departure. Well, within that schedule, you have to include transportation in there. This includes deciding:
- Who you are taking in your vehicle
- Where you need to vehicle to take you (Ceremony? Sites for pictures? Reception? Home?)
- Times of arrival at all your locations
When deciding on these items, it is important to remember that most rental companies have a minimum time that you must use their services. "In the end, if you use a vehicle for a short amount of time, you may end up paying the same as if you had hired them for a much longer amount of time" warns Roni, owner of Ultimate Limo. Roni recommends that the couple should have at least one limousine taking the bride and bridesmaids to the ceremony; as well one limousine (or the same one, at a different time) taking the groom and groomsmen to the ceremony site. This limousine can than take the bridal party from the ceremony to the reception site. It will allow for the bridal party to have some fun and celebrate together after the ceremony. The most common requests for wedding day transportation services, according to Roni, is:
- Bride and Bridesmaids pick up and drop off at ceremony.
- Groom and Groomsmen pick up and drop off at ceremony.
- Limo service from the ceremony to the reception.
- Limo service for the Bride and Groom from the reception to your final destination.
- Limo service for the wedding party from the reception to their final destination.
Once all that has been figured out, the couple must pay attention to safety. When it comes to limo drivers, Roni advises that each individual driver should have a chauffeur’s license and be experienced in driving the vehicle that has been assigned to them. You should ask the limo company to speak to your driver about your route and pick up times to test out how you get a long with the driver.
Transportation on your wedding day should be spectacular and seamless. It should not be something to stress about, so make sure you take all the factors that are pointed out in this article into consideration!
